Dunya vs Akhira

Allah says: Think not that Allah does not notice the deeds of those who do wrong. He but gives them respite against a day when the eyes will fixedly stare in horror... --(S.xlv.42).

Once Umar(R.A) enter a room within the masjid where he noticed the Prophet laying on a mat. While observing the prophet in this position Umar began weeping. When asked by the Prophet "Why are you weeping?" Umar replied:

'O, Prophet of Allah! why should I not weep? I can see the mat's pattern which you just lay on imprinted on your body, and I am also beholding all that you have got in this room. O, Prophet of Allah Pray that Allah may grant ample provisions for us. The Persians and the Romans who have no true faith and who worship not Allah but their kings -- Caesar and Chosroes-- presently live in gardens with streams running in their midst, but the chosen Prophet and the accepted slave of Allah does live in such a dire poverty!'

The Prophet (S.A.W) sat up from the mat he was laying on and responded:
"O, 'Umar! are you still in doubt about this matter? Ease and comfort in the Hereafter are much better than ease and comfort in this world. The unbelievers are enjoying their share of the good
things in this very world, whereas we have all such things in store for us in the next."

As Believers, we must keep in mind that just because many unbelievers in this world have greater success than many believers doesn't mean Allah has favored them. Their possesions are a temporary and a test. Many "winners" in this life will be losers in the next. Many "losers" in this life will be winners in the next.

Inna-lihahi, Wa Inna-ilahi rajioon-- To Allah We Belong and Unto Him is Our Return...
